Hampton needs Cushing in Concord

To the Editor:

Robert “Renny” Cushing deserves our votes on November 6 to re-elect him as state representative from Hampton.

Just this month, Renny won a major victory for Seacoast citizens, working with representatives from both parties to get the public access to documents of the Coakley Landfill Group (CLG). The courts denied CLG’s appeal, of a Right-to-Know suit, so that now we may finally get answers to what is going on with our drinking water, and possible links to high cancer rates in our area.

Without reps. like Renny, we are at the mercy of Aquarion and Eversource to know what contamination is in our water. He worked in Concord to try to prevent the Eversource acquisition of Aquarion one year ago, and although the take-over went through, Renny works to keep them accountable for our water quality.

Most importantly, Renny is a great listener. When you speak to Renny, he takes your concerns to heart. He is on our side in Concord fighting to keep affordable health care, to maintain support for our great public schools, and protect the rights of citizens to vote.

Last, but not least, Renny Cushing, a lifetime Hampton resident, has been a well-known advocate for victim’s rights and human rights for the last 30 years.

We need Renny in Concord now more than ever.
